The AVT Video Codecs are used for live Video transmissions especially in the areas of traffic surveillance (e.g. tunnels, crossroads) and crime prevention.
The AVT Video Codecs work with the ITU-T Standard H.261. H.261 describes a JPEG-based procedure to digitally compress and decompress analogue Video signals. The H.261 Standard allows an adaptation of the picture quality to the bandwidth of the transmission line. Additionally, frames of a sequence can be left out during playback in fovour of a better picture quality.
