The MAGIC DC7 Dual-7 kHz Audio Codec is equipped with an analogue POTS and an ISDN BRI line interface as well as two Audio inputs and outputs. A Headset/Microphone interface is also available at the rear side of the system.
Functionality
In the ISDN mode two Audio Codecs are available providing the G.711 and G.722 coding algorithms. The delay of the 7 kHz G.722 Audio Codecs is less than 10 ms. The two available Audio Codecs can be configured as 3.1 kHz (G.711) or 7 kHz (G.722) Codecs. Each Audio Codec occupies one ISDN B channel (64 kbit). In this way, two Audio signals can be transmitted via one BRI interface. In the Analogue POTS mode, an Audio Codec with a bandwidth of 3.1 kHz can be used.
Because of low delays and the integrated Headset interface MAGIC DC7 is the optimal system for speech reporting. The Headset interface provide pre-amplifier, limiter and Auto-Ducking function for the microphone signal. The headphones signals can be configured individually. With the optional Mixer Software the system has all functions that are necessary for reporting purposes.
Follow-up model
The follow-up model for the MAGIC DC7 is the MAGIC DC7 XIP Audio Codec. The MAGIC DC7 XIP offers the same functions as the MAGIC DC7 but it provides an X.21 and a LAN interface for Audio over IP transmissions instead of the POTS interface.
