The MAGIC E1 Audio System can transmit any number of Stereo Audio signals via a 2-Mbit/s connection - limited only by the channel capacity. MAGIC AC1 XIP RM 2M has an integrated 2-Mbit/s Multiplexer and a bi-directional Audio Codec (AC1 Version) or a pure Audio Decoder (AD1 Version), respectively.
The 2-Mbit/s Management Software allows a central configuration of the whole system. Individual time slots of the 2-Mbit/s signal can be allocated to the Audio Codecs or the Audio Decoders. Likewise, all coding parameters can be individually selected for each Codec/Decoder.
The system supports the ISO/MPEG Layer 2 coding algorithm which allows the transmission of e.g. 10 Stereo programmes with very good quality. For optimal Audio quality the PCM procedure is also available. However, because of the required bandwidth, only one Stereo programme can be transmitted.
Daisy Chain Principle
Several systems can be cascaded according to the Daisy Chain Principle via the 2-Mbit/s interface using the Drop & Insert function. If one system fails, the 2-Mbit/s interface is automatically bridged by a relay.
Audio Distribution
The system can be used for the transmission of Audio signals from, e.g.one studio to several transmitting sites. The Audio Codecs in the studio each provide additionally a monitoring interface to monitor the encoded Audio signals. The 2-Mbit/s signal is generated at the Audio Codec side and transmitted transparently to all transmitting sites, where the selected Audio signals are decoded.
Alarm Management
Using the integrated SNMP function (version 2) an alarm management and integration into a network management system can be realised via the LAN interface of the system.
